Slain Tejano music superstar Selena has been nominated for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. A limited number of stars are added to the walk annually.
Leading the effort is Robert Alaniz, who's arranged for donation of the $5,000 required for a star through sources in Los Angeles. Alaniz, a native of Selena's hometown of Corpus Christi, is a vice president of Hill & Knowlton Public Relations in L.A.
To support Selena's Walk of Fame campaign, people can write letters to the Hollywood Historic Trust, 7000 Hollywood Blvd., Suite 1, Hollywood, Calif. 90028.
